What Business Are You Really In

Most people come across a specific product or service, get excited about the sales presentation of the company, and decide to commit themselves to the MLM opportunity, like it is some kind of cult or religious following.

I think it’s great to have a true appreciation for a particular product or service. It is also great to be part of a company that has a good compensation plan, great corporate direction, and a long term future.

But what is even more important, is to remember you are not in some kind of magic group wonderland, but in a product or service distribution business. No matter what the product or service, no matter how magic the company and its plan is, it is still a simple cold reality, that it’s a plain distribution business.

The objective is to distribute as much of a product or service, so that you can make as much money as possible. No matter how great the compensation plan is, the people who make the most money are the people, who distribute the most product or service.

So what business are you really in. You are in the business of distributing some product or service. The best way to do that is to have as many customers as possible. That means the number one objective has to be, to find as many new customers as you can. In the MLM business, that means your objective has to be to find as many new distributors as you can, and to work with them so they can find as many as they can.

To find new distributors, you need to have as many leads as possible come your way. The more leads you have, the more new distributors you will end up with. Getting leads, converting them to distributors, is what it’s all about.

So your primary business is LEAD generation, that’s the Business you are in. No matter what MLM opportunity you are excited about, you are in the business of LEAD generation. Generate new leads that come your way, and you will be the top money earner in any MLM opportunity.
